With all the financial problems being faced by Air Jamaica, I can think of a personal reason to rescue this airline thereby preserving one of our national treasures.
On November 29, my mother suffered a massive stroke on a one-week visit to Jamaica and was taken to the University Hospital of the West Indies. The staff, especially those in Accident and Emergency, Internal Medicine, and on Ward 7, were professional and courteous in their management and preparation for her return home to Florida for rehabilitation. However, I must mention the excellent customer service that was demonstrated by the staff of Air Jamaica.
From the online ticketing agent, customer service representative in New Kingston to the checking-in attendant, flight attendants and pilot, all were exemplary in their standard of service. I must say a special thank-you to the staff of Air Jamaica and I urge them to continue this true Jamaican spirit, especially during the busy Christmas season.
