Rwanda cuts diplomatic ties with France
Rwanda has recalled its ambassador and severed its diplomatic ties with France after a French judge said President Paul Kagame and nine associates should be prosecuted over the death of his predecessor. On Wednesday Judge Jean-Louis Bruguiere issued arrest warrants for nine Rwandan officials, accusing them of murder in the shooting down of former President Juvenal Habyarimana's plane. That's the event that sparked the 1994 massacre of hundreds of thousands of Tutsis and moderate Hutus. Kagame has rejected the claims describing them as politically motivated.
