FOOTE.. every member of the corps is a delegate representing Jamaica at the congress.
ARNOLD Foote has been re-elected dean of the Consular Corps of Jamaica.
He was re-elected unopposed on Thursday during an annual general meeting at the Jamaica Pegasus.
Foote thanked the meeting for giving him the honour to serve the Consular Corps of Jamaica for another term, and reminded the members that the Consular Corps of Jamaica would host the World Congress of Consuls 2006 in Montego Bay from November 4 to 9. He also told the meeting that every member of the corps "is a delegate representing Jamaica at the Congress".
"The Consular Corps of Jamaica, in four years, has gained in stature, credibility and respect, nationally and internationally. Every project we have done to date has been successful," the goup said in a statement.
"Our participation at the international level through the World Federation of Consuls and the Caricom Consular Association have resulted in us being chosen to host the World Congress of Consuls 2006. This is a great compliment given to the Consular Corps of Jamaica by the World Federation of Consuls."
The executive and directors of the Consular Corps of Jamaica for 2006 are:
Dean, Consul for Turkey.
Vice Dean, Consul for Norway.
Secretary, Consul for Poland.
Treasurer, Consul for Jordan.
Consul for Lithuania .
Consul for Slovakia.
