Spanish flagpole closeup

Close-up view, as promised on Friday, of the base of the Spanish contigent's flagpole at Camp Babylon, Iraq. Taken November 2003. For the heraldically-minded, this "castle" mirror that present in the Spanish flag (and arms).

By contrast, U.S. units in Iraq were forbidden to fly the U.S. flag, although defiance of this order was widespread.
