I will admit riht up front that I hate to read. At my wife's insistance, I bought Dead Man's Chest for my Uncle's Birthday. Before I wrapped it up, I read the 3 page preface. I was hooked. We had already eaten dinner, so I went off to my computer room and got into my kick-back chair and began reading. That was around 6 pm. At 5 am the next morning, I read the last page, closed the book and said out loud, "Wow!"
If you like adventure stories, this is the book for you. It tells what happened to Long John Silver ten years after Treasure Island. If what Commander Johnson tells in his novel is at all true, then Long John Silver was much a Founding Father as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Patrick Henry.
