I hadn't really thought about putting in for it.
To be honest, I'd considered it and thought it a little, er, pushy. It just felt weird to put myself in for a badge. On the other hand, I guess I've been around the Army long enough to know that if you don't make sure the paperwork on yourself is done properly, than you can expect poorly done paperwork.
So I guess I shouldn't be the only one from my unit who doesn't get the badge awarded, should I? More to the point, I should ensure that my subordinates who also qualified are similarly awarded the badges which they are due.
Which is, in the end, just what my former team chief is doing. Taking care of troops. Even when they're not your troops anymore.
